One Trader’s Legacy: Steve Getzwiller Collects the West

AT THE DESERT CABALLEROS WESTERN MUSEUM - Wickenburg Arizona               Steve Getzwiller, cowboy, collector, and Indian trader -

Steve started his lifelong passion for collecting the west and Native American artifacts nearly 50 years ago, beginning as a teenager with his exposure to the Amerind Museum and mentor Charles C. Di Peso. A natural trader, he has become known for his work with weavers from the Navajo Nation. While Getzwiller has collaborated with multiple museums to present exhibitions of historic and contemporary weavings, One Trader’s Legacy marks the first time that Getzwiller’s personal collection of rugs, paintings, pottery, baskets, and guns will be on public view.

Steve Getzwiller and his wife, Gail, operate the Nizhoni Ranch Gallery in Sonoita, Arizona.

This is a sampling of the photographs taken at the Nizhoni Ranch Gallery, as Steve selects the artifacts and collectibles that will be in the Exhibition.  It is going to be a very expansive Show, you will see many sides of his collecting habits, not just Navajo Rugs, AT THE DESERT CABALLEROS WESTERN MUSEUM - Wickenburg Arizona.
