She was taught to weave by her mother and grandmother. A master weaver, she has won many awards and her weavings have been exhibited in the Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular piece is just spectacular.  Woven in a contemporary Bistie style, with a central element which was changed to showcase Sandpainting images.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMarion's talent for weaving is evident in this weaving, notice how perfect the circles are in the center sandpainting design. Anita was a well known and respected weaver throughout the world. Her rug work had been featured in the Cortez Journal, the Arizona Highway Magazine and Native People’s Magazine, as well as various other publications.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAnita won numerous awards for her beautiful work, including 2 Best of Show Awards at the Annual Santa Fe Indian Market for her Sandpainting Weavings, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ean impressive feat considering the fact she is believed to be only the second weaver to receive the award in Indian market’s 83-year history.\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Anita became interested in weaving when she was a young child, after hearing the stories her mother told about her grandmother. She was the third generation of women in her family to take up the craft. She specialized in Navajo Sandpainting Weavings. Those familiar with her work know she was very dedicated to it.
