Steve cherished this one for a very long time. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the 4 in 1 Navajo rug each panel is woven with a specific style. Two panels are Pictorials, one panel is a Red Mesa and the final panel is a Teec Nos Pos. This is a truly fine example of many styles coming together to create one impressive rug.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Graden Mercantile Company letter is provenance for this Navajo Textile. Though the letter is not signed or dated, but the letter head states R. E. Sloan (b. 1886 d. 1948) was president of the Mercantile.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e4 Navajo sisters from the 4 corners area are said to be the weavers. It's obvious they shared the wool as all panels have some of each color. The words are woven in forward and reverse text so that it would be legible from either side. This would likely have been a custom commissioned piece. It would be interesting to know the meaning behind \"24 cans\" wouldn't it? There were 24 cans of beers to a case. The beverage bottling industry was expanding. It would be interesting to know the meaning behind \"24 cans\" wouldn't it? There were 24 cans of beers to a case. The beverage bottling industry was expanding.
